i have noticed on el capitan photos that manually adding faces on individual photos ( cmd+ i, click circle with +, position manually and resize circle, type person name) then skipping forward one by one ( right arrow or slide) will rescan sequential photos. where are the circles? to be able to search for images with a specific person ( or range of people) becomes faster and more efficient as well. you can either manually tag each photograph individually or you could do a batch people tag. if a profile is unnamed or has a name but it' s the wrong one, you can manually name or rename it. open the photos app on your mac and click on the “ people” button from the sidebar. the app now offers the ability to fill in tags for faces that it failed to identify. Once named, the photo will be added to the person' s profile in the people album. switch between faces and photos to view the maximized photos of the tagged faces. read a short introduction to learn more about the feature.

here' s how to manually add an image to the appropriate " faces" category. its tile is pinned to the start menu by default. Google photos has had automatic face tagging or the ability to locate and recognize faces in a photo and add a tag to that face naming the individual. once you have assigned some faces, you can search for them and view photos that contain those people.

the intelligence system photos uses when making the choices for the cover photo images as well as photo previews ( see below) appears to be spot on, at least in testing on my relatively small image library. you can draw face regions manually in such cases. There’ s a lot more you can do with the new photos app in ios 10. Mac photos manually assign name people face Mac photos manually assign name people face By Charles Murray Follow | Public
